Fast File: A Guided Start to CPSC eFiling With Comply PRO+

If you are an importer of regulated consumer products, CPSC eFiling is no longer a future consideration. Since July 8, 2026, importers of most regulated consumer products have been required to electronically file Certificate of Compliance data with U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the time of entry. Requirements for regulated products withdrawn from a Foreign Trade Zone for consumption or warehousing take effect January 8, 2027.

For many teams, the biggest obstacle is not the filing itself. It is everything you think you have to do before you can file: years of product records, supplier test reports, and certificate history sitting in spreadsheets and email threads. The assumption is that adopting a compliance platform means a large data-migration project before you can file your first shipment.

Fast File was built to show there is a better way to eFile.

What Fast File Is

Fast File is the guided onboarding module inside Comply PRO+. It walks a new user through what is needed to prepare an incoming shipment for eFiling — in as little as one day when the necessary shipment and compliance information is available — while you continue building out your broader compliance library over time. You do not migrate your entire history to get started. You begin with the supplier, products, test reports, and compliance data needed for your next incoming shipment, then add products and records at your own pace.

That "next shipment first" approach is the whole idea: a focused way to begin preparing your next shipment, rather than waiting to perfect a decade of historical records.

How the Guided Workflow Works

Fast File breaks onboarding down into four plain-language steps :

1. Build your shipment. Choose an existing supplier or add a new one, then select the products on the incoming shipment. Suppliers get their own logins to upload production dates and test reports directly, so you don't have to chase documents over email.

2. Link compliance data. Build the product protocol and verify that third-party lab test reports are attached to the selected products — or upload and link new reports as needed. Comply PRO+ is lab-independent, so you can keep using any lab or a combination of labs.

3. Run the patent pending PRO Check audit. Enter the shipment details, and the audit scans 75 required data fields and flags missing information. This helps your team identify gaps before filing, at a time when the revised Part 1110 rules also require certificates to identify testing information and any testing exclusions relied upon.

4. eFile. Once you see the green check on the screen, you can eFile with one click. Certificate data goes to the CPSC Product Registry through the platform's direct API connection — no spreadsheet uploads — and reference data is sent automatically to your customs broker or retailer. This supports the certificate-data transmission importers must make through CBP's Automated Commercial Environment at entry; it does not replace the customs entry filing itself. You get real-time filing confirmations, a unique digital and PDF certificate for each product on each shipment, and five-year cloud archiving for record retention.

Why Onboarding This Way Matters

The traditional approach — clean up all your data first, then start filing — creates a long gap between your compliance deadline and your go-live date. Fast File closes that gap by making your first shipment the onboarding exercise itself.

A few things make this work:

    • The guardrail is built in. The platform keeps eFiling unavailable until the required information is complete, helping your team identify gaps before filing.

    • Your broker stays in sync. Required filing information flows to the customs broker or retailer automatically after eFiling.

    • Onboarding compounds. Every supplier you add, report you link, and product you build during a Fast File run becomes part of your growing compliance library — so your second shipment is easier to prepare than your first.

    • You keep an audit trail from day one. The activity log records who updated data and what changed, and role-based permissions with two-factor authentication protect it .

The Right Time to Start

If you import regulated consumer products and have not yet begun eFiling, the process is easier to build around a shipment you are already preparing. And if your products move through a Foreign Trade Zone, the January 8, 2027 deadline gives you a clear runway — but only if you start building the workflow now.
